FIREFOX HOME – BRINGING YOUR BROWSING EXPERIENCE TO A MORE ENRICHED LEVEL
We have written about the BETA of Firefox going mobile , and it has been launched with Firefox Mobile 4 recently known as Firefox Home . Why would you choose Firefox Home ?
Please note that the Firefox Home will only work when you have an active Firefox Sync Account . Just download the application via AppsStore or iTunes upon launching, it will request to connect to Sync .
If you are using Firefox 4 on your PC, you probably do not find the usual “File | Edit | View” menu bar . Simply hit “ALT” key on your keyboard , go to TOOLS > OPTIONS > SYNC > ADD A DEVICE
Obviously this was not introduced in the BETA of the product . It is part and parcel of increasing the application security features . If you do not yet have a Firefox Sync account , download the plug-in here into your Firefox browser on a PC / Mac , and start configuring it .
Here’s some of our thoughts / ideas :
1. Speed is faster in certain websites compared to the default SAFARI browser in iPhone.
2. You can bring along your tabs, history and bookmarks which you have synced on your PC with Sync account configured.
3. A more straight forward search that could be done on the address bar (act as a search toolbar too).
4. Simple interface – ONLY 4 tabs at the bottom of the app.
5. Bring your Firefox whenever you go even off-the-work.
Features to be improved in the upcoming release :
1. More tweaks available for browser (ie. Cache reset and etc).
2. Options for user to NOT connect to Firefox Sync.
