Firefox going mobile …

The new Firefox 4 BETA is launched and besides that, this Firefox Mobile is yet another achievement by them. They are bringing the same experience that we were used to on the PC to your mobile phones. It is essential to keep in mind how the users interact with the mobile phones and it should always give users the same experience like using on the PC.

Mobile phone screens are smaller compared to PC, so users should not be looking at screen which is too big you need to navigate around too much to get what you want. With the gesture detection (for touch screen mobile phone users), you can just tab and hold your screen and swing to the right and you will see all the opened tabs. Swinging from the right to left, will show you the back and forward button and the bookmark icon.

The “Awesome Bar” is adjusted and placed on the top of the screen where uses can easily tap on it and type in either a website URL or to initiate a Google Search. It learns at it goes that when you start typing, it automatically suggest the websites you wanted to access. Google labs product – WEAVE made this even more powerful.

Firefox mobile is also designed to synchronize with your PC and your Mobile phone that you can access the same content just like you are on your PC easily, it is a seamless transitions between your mobile phones and your desktop PC.

Location Aware Browsing is also a cool feature in Firefox where it allows you to share your location with your other friends. You can get access to maps of the location around you, even with driving directions.

Security and privacy are the 2 most important concern on this development. Users can customize their privacy settings and whether to allow the browser to save information on their GeoLocation. Add-ons for Firefox mobile is also made possible whereby users can now install add-ons on their mobile just like they used to do it on their PCs. Functionality for your browser for it to look the way the users want it to behave.
