Grab the iOS 5 GM (Actual iOS5 launch date – 12 Oct)

Upgrading to iOS 5 GM shall be performed at your own risk . Do not refer the below sequence in timeline as the time shown on the iPhone 4 somehow went haywire . Have fun updating guys .. We are not in support of any jailbreaking actions but you may opt to do it as your wish . The version of the final release will not have a significant difference with this GM

What you need (Just Google it up or YouTube) :
1. iTunes Beta 7 or later (Find latest link at http://cydiahelp.com/download-itunes-10-5-beta-7-for-mac-windows/)
2. iOS 5 GM IPSW (Find your desired version at http://imzdl.com/)
3. RedSnow (if you wish to perform an tethered jailbreak; find latest link at http://blog.iphone-dev.org/redsn0w-iOS5)
Latest version of iTunes is Beta 7 for Windows OS and do not be misled to download anything newer than this version and claim to be for Windows. As of 9 October 2011

The cool things I prominently found interesting :
1. Notification center that does not disturb you with random pop up notification anymore
2. Double tap on lock screen to access camera
3. Using volume key (+ or -) to capture image
4. Wireless sync
5. iCloud
6. iTunes sync at background (no more slide to cancel sync)
7. PhotoStream feature
8. iSMS (like whatsapp within iDevice users)
9. Twitter integration into iOS
10. Queue for App Installation
11. AppStore registered all previous Apps you downloaded
12. Rich text formatting in email app
13. Safari Safe / Private Browsing

Looking forward for :
1. Facebook Integration
2. Siri Voice Recognition
3. Larger iCloud Storage
4. FaceTime using 3G Data

Now, let’s look at some screens during the iOS 5 GM Installation and the jailbreaking process .. If during the custom IPSW Restore / Update, you encounter error 3194, download TinyUmbrella at http://cache.firmwareumbrella.com/downloads/tinyumbrella-4.21.02.exe . Run the program as Administrator while connecting to your iPhone :

Step 1 : Start TSS Server (if cannot start, close the program, type “local services”, locate Apache2.2 and stop the servic or read here : http://www.adriancjy.com/wordpress/how-to-fix-%E2%80%9Ccannot-start-tss-service-httpd-pidxxxx-must-be-killed%E2%80%9D/ .
Step 2 : Than there shows Advance button tab on Advance for next process.
Step 3 : Now Uncheck “Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit”
Step 4 : You’ll see there is Apply Changes click for the changes to fix iTune Errors
Step 5 : Now your system need to Reboot/Restart.
Step 6 : Proceed with update / restore in iTunes.
