Went off to Klang with dad and it took freaking long to get everything done.. I spent my time in his office helping out some chores then when I was free, well, I did read on my slides.. No notes were done though.. So yeah, after that, I was getting my HTC HD2 to run the latest Android Froyo.. Froyo simply means Frozen Yogurt. Let’s see the upgrade from the previous 2.1 Eclair..

- General Android OS speed, memory, and performance optimizations
- Additional application speed improvements courtesy of JIT implementation
- Integration of Chrome’s V8 JavaScript engine into the Browser application
- Increased Microsoft Exchange support (security policies, auto-discovery, GAL look-up, calendar synchronization, remote wipe)
- Improved application launcher with shortcuts to Phone and Browser applications
- USB tethering and WiFi hotspot functionality
- Added an option to disable data access over mobile network
- Updated Market application with batch and automatic update features
- Quick switching between multiple keyboard languages and their dictionaries
- Voice dialing and contact sharing over Bluetooth
- Support for numeric and alphanumeric passwords
- Support for file upload fields in the Browser application
- Browser can now display animated GIFs (instead of just the first frame)
- Support for installing applications to the expandable memory
- Adobe Flash 10.1 support

Looking at all the updates, it wasn’t anything easy though. Thanks for making it happen. To get Froyo running on your HTC HD2, you should have the three following requirements:

1. HSPL Installed (this should be installed on your PC to install the Radio ROM on to your phone)
2. Radio ROM at least 2.08 or and above
3. Lastly, copy the ANDROID folder into your SD Card.. (Run CLRCAD.exe then only HARET.exe)

Note: CLRCAD.exe is to enable sound / audio when you boot through HARET.exe into Froyo 2.2

As compared to Windows Mobile OS, Android Froyo 2.2 is damn efficient in power consumption.. Way way better.. I hope Windows Mobile 7 will be better..

Try it out at your own risk and feel free to download the entire essential folder by clicking on the link here or scan the QR Code below.

tnx for the link you provided. i found yours is much better than other ways to dawnload android on hd2 for the first time users like me. can you pls post in the same manner for the newer version?

  4. Adrian says:

Yewl, so you manage to port to Android ? One thing to let you know, the Bluetooh isn’t working always.. Newer version is still undergoing.. Patience buddy ^^

  5. yewl says:

hi adrian, yes i already ported it but there is an echo when i talk with it.

  6. Adrian says:

for some yeah, you wil get echo.. for me I get some noise at the background.. The only way to solve that is either wait for a later release of this Froyo port.. or install Radio ROM 2.10.. But I read is not stable, it might just cut off your original WiFi function. So I chose not to do it..

That’s awesome Adrian!! Nice job!! =)
I’ve been reading a lot of comments for switching to froyo 2.2. It’s nicer than current lausy winmo 6.5 platform, but there are also issues regarding froyo 2.2
Should I should wait for a more stable upcoming version? If so when would it be released??

  8. Adrian says:

None of us know when Froyo will be released officially for HTC HD2.. So we just stick to using this Ported version first.. Well, how do you find the froyo running on your device now ?
