Earth Hour 2010 – 400th post

Today i couldnt sleep any later, maybe too used to waking early during the exam week. Did some reading over the Internet in the morning and did the Earth Hour layout for my website. Both my blog and website was shut down since 3.30PM today till 9.30PM. I hope all of you enjoyed the Earth Hour session.

My website layout during the Earth Hour shut down was designed with dark black background. What is Earth Hour ? Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Earth hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights. Following Sydney’s lead, many other cities around the world adopted the event in 2008. Earth Hour 2010 will take place on March 27, 2010 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., local time.

After done, I went out for lunch at Bel Pasto with brother in Aman Puri. Oh yeah, i had my hair cut too by Lisa at Senso. The house today left only me and my brother. Mom told me just stay at home instead going outstation with them to Teluk Intan for the All Souls’ Day prayer for the ancestors. Auntie shereen was her staying over last night and havent been talking to her yet. So at night we had a long talk. I was out yesterday with Kahkoon when she was here =]

At around 830, we also switch off all the lights. I hope Earth Hour can be held every month instead of every year. This would help to save mother nature more. AdrianCJY.com has also written several articles on the environment, feel free to read on and comment.

At night, here goes the earth hour.. my lights were off when i left house for dinner at 8.. so i had a 2 hours coz i came home at 10..

Its earth hour !!! Save some power !!!

- Lower your fan speed
- Increase air-con temp
- If your pc overclocked, underclock it
- Set ur laptop to Power Saver !
- Decrease light brightness
- Press MUTE on your radio !!
- Turn off your fridges, alarm systems & emergency lights
- Don’t use signal light when making a turn (off ur car lights too)

Anyway, but the restaurant didn’t even make an effort to turn off. Maybe they can put candles what.. how romantic LOL..
