Golden Screen Cinema – GSC

The website of the GSC is not accessible until now (off and on still manage to get it but slow). Let’s see, the Transformers 2 were released and got an overwhelming feedback from it. Popular cinemas like GSC in Malaysia has allowed guests to book their tickets online or doing e-payment few days before it was published and the traffic directing to it was over congested.

Let’s not talk about website first. The conventional way of buying tickets – lining up. Few days before until the day it is showed following few days later, the queue is still as long and all the counters are opened but still was not able to handle the crowd. I do think that the Management should open only a few special counters to clear the crowd and not affecting ticketing for other movies. There are in face quite numbers of my friends telling me that even queuing to get the tickets somehow jammed the ticketing system and makes the process even slower.

Back to the website, i do believe the web team of GSC should apply the same principles as in, diverting the traffic to a backup server (i believe GSC is still affordable to get one), it doesn’t have to hold large capacity but just enough the handle the temporary congested traffic. One! It doesn’t affect e-ticketing for other movies, Two!! It allows a specific title movie in favour guests to purchase their tickets faster. Isn’t worth to spend money in getting a backup server at the same way retaining your customers.

However, I believe they have learned this and should be able to deal with any other upcoming overwhelming movies that will be shown or theater. One thing they have done is to stripped down the graphical and flashy version of it. It is still quite user-friendly but due to the traffic is still congested even midnight, ticketing is quite hard. Let me show you some screenshots, i don’t hope that GSC will be needing to use the same screen interface in the future. But anyhow, stripped down version really reduces a lot of bandwidth, BRAVO GSC!!
